Wandering through the meadows of Hampton Court Castle today there was an overwhelming sense of Englishness about the place. The castellated architecture set in ancient landscape, formal flower and walled kitchen garden speaks of old world history. The kind of historical presence that I do miss living in the new world.
It was a near perfect English summer’s day. Blue skies and puffy clouds, deep green pastures and a tea room perfect for lingering in.
