When you head south to New Zealand airports shrink in size. It takes a few minutes to land and arrive at your gate. Not so in bigger cities of the world. It can take ages to taxi to your appointed parking space. In Los Angeles it took 25 minutes due to airport congestion.
This did at least allow time for plenty of out of window gazing and the opportunity for some plane spotting and was delighted to see another Air New Zealand plane passing the other way. As the hours of delay leaving Los Angeles stretched out, I shared the photo on twitter and all of a sudden the @domesticexec twitterspere started to light up. Never has so much attention been given to one of my tweets.
Almost made up for the fact we were 6 hours late leaving for London. Almost, let’s not get carried away.
