Far be it for me to complain about a spell of warm summery weather.  We’ve been basking in sunshine for over a month.  Rain has been as rare as our own fresh eggs after the hens went on strike on account of the heat.  Droughts were declared today in parts of the North Island triggering special measures and support for farmers who are struggling to feed their stock.  Our  normally lush lawn is a pale shade of yellow. Although summer is officially over it looks like the sunny weather is to continue for a while. There is no rain forecast for the foreseeable future which is tricky when you rely on rain for your water supply.  Day after day of sunshine is good for the soul if not the garden. I’m not complaining you know, just saying!
Beautiful photo, so perfect and uniform, my sunflowers are all droopy and withered now. It must be time to practice a rain dance 🙂
I know what you mean Nicola, a few hours of wind have done my sunflowers no good what so ever :o(
Gorgeous…must say I am loving this never ending summer 🙂
Oh me too Mairi. Totally loving it :o)
