A little like Fortnum here, I’ve been looking for some comfort where my thistle harvesting has been concerned. It’s a dispiriting experience to be plugging away at the blighters and seemingly making little progress. It has left me with a bit of a procrastination problem so I’ve been avoiding it completely.
Imagine how I now feel that the reinforcements have arrived.
Yes, MT and his Dad have shared my pain of the thistle challenge. You can just see them peaking over the thistle horizon. Ably watched by the bassets who I asked to supervise quality control.
The men of the household did sterling work. It was back breaking but they made a fabulous team.
Stopping every now and again to get the lie of the land and to consult on the best strategy of attack.
Or maybe they were deciding it was time for a cuppa tea!
Little basset tired of his work quickly and set off back home. He’s more of an action basset whereas Fortnum will happily lie down for hours taking in the view.
On closer inspection I could see that much work had been going on.
Yes indeed the piles of thistles is growing again.
Fortnum looked pretty pleased with his supervisory efforts.
Although he seemed to be a little fed up I wasn’t giving him as much credit as he thought he deserved.
There is nothing worse than a sulking basset!
Now here’s a man that was pretty pleased with his efforts.
And rightly so. It was a phenomenal team effort. And from my perspective a dream come true to have some reinforcements in to help with the thistle challenge.
Yes indeed I am pleased as punch. I can really start to see the possibility of us actually digging out the thistles this year!
How cool is that?!
awesome work! I’m sure you kept the cups of tea flowing too and it must have been great to have some helping hands on deck!
It’s been a relief – a problem shared!
