It’s been a blessed relief to have my our new tractor and trailer. I’ve been able to mulch the front beds using the left over mulch at the back with a lot less effort than using the wheelbarrow method. Also, it is a bit more fun to drive around that have to do the leg work.
MT’s been slicing through the long grass too which is starting to transform how things look.
Here’s the result of this weekend’s efforts. Nice eh. You can see the trees now.
It does of course emphasise the thistle bank though which is a bit of a drawback.
But I can live with that to be able to see some more shape in the garden.
Our free ranging chickens are doing their bit on their side of the fence.
Just as well as you’d never get the mower down the slope.
Or here – I am fast coming to the conclusion that it will be a goat on a rope that does the business on these steep banks. Don’t tell MT that though, it can be our secret!
In the meantime, we’ll make the most of our new labour saving device. It’ll be due for it’s first 5 hour service before the end of the week!
I did really want something that co-ordinates better with the house colours. Racing green maybe?
That is an amazing amount of garden you’ve got. Is it all going to be garden or will you keep some stock? What are your plans for the slopes, grass or planting? I know, I’m so nosy. Your mower looks like such fun, I’m sure I wouldn’t have a shortage of volunteers to cut the grass if we had a boys’ toy like that, but our lawns are too small anyway.
For the slopes you need a petrol flymo and a long piece of rope stand at the top and pull it up and down
Nah you could make a golf course I reckon! Goat on a rope sounds like a fab idea, goats are useful! x
