I heard on the radio that a long dry summer is predicted this year with above average temperatures and average or below rainfall. I haven’t stopped smiling since I heard this proclamation. I’ll take whatever good weather La Niña wants us to bear. The downside of course is that we’ll have to be a bit thrifty with the tank water which is a worry since the kitchen garden has already needed a moisture boost to get things going. Right now everything still looks green with a touch of lush but I know that won’t last forever.
The bank of ground behind our house is irrigated with the run off from the sewage treatment plant. Apparently the water has been purified enough for you to drink. I’ve not tried the tipple but the grass, weeds and foxgloves are enjoying the constant drip drip from the lines.
