We’ve been making the most of the sunshine. The weather forecast looks like pants so thought I’d throw caution to the wind and concentrate on those outdoor chores and worry about mopping floors and work that needs to be done when the rain starts. No use in wasting all that lovely sun.
That’s one of the fantastic things about being a Domestic Executive. I can drop stuff and head outdoors if it feels like the right thing to do. I bet you can’t guess what me and the bassets have been up to!
Oh you guessed – how clever of you!
Yesterday’s pictures served to remind me that the front paddock area needed to be cut. With the sun shining I thought no time like the present! The bassets did their seal impression again whilst I toiled – yes, it might be fun but takes a lot of effort – to cut the grass up close to the road gate.
It’s made a huge difference. Opened up the views even more and made it possible to see the land form which has been disguised for so long.
There is however whole areas that are inaccessible on the tractor mower. It’s going to take the strimmer to get at the grass close to the beehives.
Here’s Fortnum making his usual point about the lack of grass in some places. These dogs are just not grateful for what they’ve got!
After all the hard work there was only one thing for it. To hitch a ride back down the hill in our new tractor trailer.
Not sure they are totally enjoying the experience.
Such ungrateful dogs, they really don’t know how to how fun!
Nah, now come on. You put those dogs in that trailer! I have seen them and there is no way they could master that! Come on J, admit it, it was more fun for you than it was for them! xx
Hi Marrisa, if the truth be told they were enthusiastic to have their paws up – that’s their command to climb in. It was when I closed the gate behind them and we started moving that I think they realised that they’d rather be out than in! It has at least stopped Fortnum bolting every time he sees the trailer moving! JT
Aww! How sweet! I’m sure they enjoyed their ride!
Thanks for stopping by through BATW and helping out!!!
What stunning views you have!!! Oh, what we wouldn’t give for a little greenery and nature right now- construction cranes and concrete just don’t cut it! Good thing we are headed back to the good ol’ Pacific NW for a month. Sure, there’ll be torrential downpours (probably daily), and it will be teeth-chatteringly cold for we desert-dwellers, but there will be plants and trees!
The boys look too cute in their little chariot! Maybe with some more practice they’ll begin to enjoy their rides? =)
