Spring has sprung – but then you know that already since I’ve told you often enough! No really, spring has sprung. And here is a Chatham Island Forget Me Not to celebrate the fact. These plants are nationally endangered but thriving in my back garden.
I’ll be sharing with you the new growth at Domestic Execuctive HQ over the coming months. How exciting is that going to be. No, don’t answer that!
My boys have been real helpful this weekend. Firstly with the procrastination challenge from yesterday and today with the necessary tidy up of the newly fenced flower beds. Here they are hard at work.
Opphs, no that’s me trying to cut back a Renga Renga Lilly! See I’m keeping it real here at Domestic Executive no fancy staged shots. It’s all raw – complete with mud on my hat and scarecrow hair do. So what were the boys doing to help?
That’s Fortnum taking a close interest in a piece of gorse wood. He’s a boy that loves to chew!
I think you can tell from Mason’s nose what he’s been up to. I’d like to say he was being helpful and in his own way he was. He insisted on checking every piece of soil turned over. Tasted every weed and also created a few holes of his own.
This is Mason again. He used to be camera shy but not any more! In fact, now I look closely at that earlier post it seems he hasn’t washed his face since then either.
Here’s someone else who likes to pose!
And tease the bassets with a new gardening glove game
A little more order please boys!
So now you know what I have to deal with my boys. Not much work going on and a lot of play and posing. But, don’t tell them this, I wouldn’t be without them!
Well done Julie on all the hard work and keeping your boys entertained! I love Chatham Island Forget Me Knots – I bought one year’s ago in remembrance of my Grandfather whose last years were spent in decline with Alzheimer’s disease.
I’m looking forward to lots more shots of ‘spring’ in action and watching the work in progress in your garden- it’s going to be incredible a few year’s from now when everything is established – mmm, those fruit trees in your orchard – magic!
I too am looking forward to lots of garden shots. It’s really interesting to see completely different plants and I always enjoy seeing what other people do with their gardens. Thanks for the link, it’s very informative so I’ve stuck it on my favourites .
