It was a relief this weekend to see so many of the trees and shrubs in the garden springing into life. This picture shows a true miracle. New shoots on a Viburnum Burkwoodii that should be pride of place under one of the turret windows. No really, spring has sprung. And here is a Chatham Island Forget Me Not to celebrate the fact. These plants are nationally endangered but thriving in my back garden.... I took this picture in the Kaitoke Forest today when we were out walking the dogs. It was growing all tangled up in the trees, a mass of white against the otherwise green trees. Clearly a symbiotic relationship going on here.
