It’s always a luxury to be able to walk the bassets during the week so it was especially special for us to venture out as a pack last Friday on the last day of our time off work. I’m not sure at this stage they had yet forgiven me for leaving them even... 
Over the last couple of days we’ve been re-bonding as a pack. This includes and incessant amount of attention seeking, requests for neck rubbing and a general trailing me around the house. It’s nice to be wanted even if 70kg of bassets can be painful... 
Since being back to work it’s been full on. My wheels have been spinning like crazy but today they slowed enough to get traction on being a domestic executive again. It was such a pleasure at 11am to switch off the computer, close the office door and head to... Bassets seem to surpass themselves when it comes to sleeping. They have a routine of naps that seems to last from breakfast to dinner time. When things got really quiet on Sunday morning I was not surprise to find Fortnum comatose on the sofa illegally breaking... Taking a month off work to crack the summer jobs just isn’t long enough. I have at least another month’s work to do and only a few days left to do it in. Mental note to self to win lotto to be able to take whole of summer off next year. With the...
