Comparing notes with a coach friend of mine showed me how simple I want life. Her idea of a luxury to boost her energy and de-stress was a a trip to the beauty parlour for a facial and a massage. For me it was a big gap in the middle of a working day to walk my bassets. I’ve only ever had one facial and massage in my life and neither was that pleasurable experience. I’m really not into strangers being in my personal space. Give me a wide open space and I’m happy.
Taking time for our basset walk was such a luxury. Our weekday walks have become a bit of a route march with not much time for lingering. For once I indulged the hounds and let them have a sniff fest and meander along at their pace. I think they enjoyed the luxury of time and space too.
Wonderful. I know I’d feel much better for time in nature than an hour with a stranger putting goo on my face! Sounds like a lovely, relaxed jaunt 🙂
For me bliss/luxury is to walk in beautiful surroundings with the sun on my face and the wind in my hair , and the only stuff I want on my face is some face cream and sun block to stop me ending up looking like ‘ye olde farmer’s wife’. Let’s embrace a new slogan – Simple = Simply Wonderful.
I’m with you!!! I’d rather take a nap in a meadow or repot some plants, get my hands dirty, I love that earthy smell.
I used to take my lab/dane mix for long hikes in the state park not far from home. We’d come exhausted, dirty and happy.
The look great and I’m glad you enjoyed your walk!!!
p.s. Mason is looking a little portly, I think he needs extra walks 😉
