Howling winds and driving rain have confined us to barracks today. Wellington is as wild and windy as I ever remember with reports of flooding in the city. If the long-range weather forecast is to believed this is just the start of what winter is going to be like this year. Warmer than average and wetter than average. Good news for the water tank.
Climatic schizophrenia seems to be the norm these days. It makes it hard to plan and prone to disappointment when grand adventures are thwarted at the last minute. Today I had grand plans for more garden clearing and nailing my landscape assignment. Still tomorrow is another day and hopefully this retched storm will have blown through leaving us basking in sun.
Even without the rain the morning dews are thick and damp making is messy, and I imagine, rather uncomfortable for a basset’s sniffing adventures. Although it doesn’t seem to have stopped my pair of tracking hounds. It was a game of follow me brother.
Although I do think Little Basset was more hesitant than he might otherwise look.
Let’s hope for a better turn in the weather, my photo archives for this week have run dry!
oh my, what a mess they are, all dew soaking the ears and under carriage!!!
love the shot with the dew glistening on the grass and the last shot of Mason is wonderful!! the color of the grass is divine!!
Lots of shaking to get rid of the drips!
GORGEOUS pics and WOW that lawn! Our lawn is going crazy – just need it to dry out so we can mow it!
Sarah – it’s been a nightmare trying to keep the grass in check. All that lovely rain but too squishy to mow. JT
