I have a good feeling about our backyard pantry this year.  The fruit bushes I planted out in the kitchen garden are looking healthy with great signs of lots of berries to come.  The trees in the orchard are starting to burst into life too with miniature figs, pears, apples and cherries appearing already.  I am sure this won’t be the last time I’ll be excited about life in the orchard but for now I can’t stop checking that this first flush of fruit is for real.
