I sometimes feel challenged by my daily blogging habit. Other days it’s sheer delight to be able to share my fun and adventures here in New Zealand. I was starting to think it was time to broaden my scope of reporting when lo and behold some new neighbours moved in.
And here they are. Some beautiful, bright eyed and decidedly four legged neighbours.
Our four legged neighbours come and go but I was delighted to see these new arrivals. They have bright eyes and an inquisitive nature that even flattered the bassets. Yes, I liked these new neighbours in an instance.
Even if they don’t stand still to have their picture taken!
These visitors came running down to the fence to see what was what. Here’s looking at you eh!
I’ll have some of that nice grass from your side….
How can you not love something that has ears like this?
Or maybe you’d like some horns like these!
Hmm, your grass tastes good.
This is Doug’s pet goat who is slim enough to shimmy between the gate we have in our fence. It wasn’t long before he saw some juicy tree leaves. Yum, yum. Yeah Right. Be off with you little black goat, cute you may be but you’re not that cute.
Yes, off with you to your own grass, trees and other miscellaneous munchies. I’m not that much of a sucker for four legged neighbours.   If you could choose your neighbours who would you choose?
What cuties though the black calf does have a bit of a frown on him. The pictures of the goat confused me and I had to check the pictures again to see if I’d got goats and calves mixed up. Our neighbours are mostly horses and sheep though there was the memorable day I drove around the corner to see 3 alpaccas in my neighbour’s field. They were just so funny. They were only visiting while their owners were on holiday and I was sad when they left. The worst 4 legged neighbour was a sheep that had been hand reared and wasn’t frightened of humans. It was positively vicious and tried to ram into us so we had to resort to hitting it with a stick to get it to go back into its own field.
Oh Ruta, we so want alpacas. I think we’ll get some next year just for their comedy value!
What beautiful pictures you take. They are so sharp & bright. I so enjoyed stopping by and reading about your sweet critters. Very cool blog.
