You can’t beat a walk on Christmas day. This year we made the most of the fine weather to enjoy the Rimutaka Incline Walk. A two hour stroll along a flat trail – it was the former railway line – complete with a watering and swimming stop for the dogs.
It’s fair to say that we weren’t dressed in our finery but with two basset hounds to manhandle it’s always best to err on the side of caution.
The walk was the perfect opportunity for some family bonding as it’s an easy going walk so plenty opportunity for nattering as you wander.
The bassets are just interested in wandering! They are focused on reaching their favourite part of the walk.
Fortnum is such a water baby. He loves to paddle and slurp. And slurp. And paddle!
Mason, however, likes to keep his feet as dry as he can.
The humans in the walking party were just as happy to sit on a rock and enjoy the view.
Is is a plane? Is is a fly? What is that in the sky?
Nope, they are just hanging on my every word!
But here’s the man that was doing all the real work.
Whilst I just slunk around looking like a bag lady.
Here’s my mother-in-law taking it easy too!
But I wasn’t being that slovenly. I was still spotting Christmas trees in the ferns!
Hope you had a good Christmas walk. We sure did!
Glad to see that Sheila and Bob are recovering from their recent bout of flu and are able to enjoy a post-Christmas Day stroll.
Beautiful photographs and what a delightful walk you all enjoyed, just magic and I’m sure your dear visitors enjoyed every moment.
Truly amazing photos! I love the first one, that could be used in a calendar! All of the photos were amazing, so good to see you having a good walk on Christmas Day xx
