No need to adjust your set, this is a new basset hound here at Domestic Executive HQ. Today is a veritable extravaganza of basset pictures after our Basset Hound Club walk to the Rimutaka Incline Trail today. It was a wonderful day for a walk with sun shining and a gentle breeze although I’m sure the bassets enjoyed the refreshing dip in the water half way.
It was with some trepidation we took Fortnum and Mason. How might our unruly boys behave with all the older dogs. As it turned out we need not have worried. By comparison Fortnum and Mason had shiny halos.
It’s quite something to see so many basset hounds in one place. When you see them like that you come to realise that no basset hound is the same. They are all shapes, sizes, colours and characters. They are however consistently short, inquisitive, slow and disobedient!
I know I’m biased but I did feel we had the most handsome bassets in the pack today. See what you think when you see these pictures. You’ll have to look closely to pick out our boys!
This basset is pretty cute with his tongue sticking out and his yucky paws from paddling in the ditch
Here’s one of our cool dudes strutting his stuff. Isn’t he handsome?!
The fun really started at the Pakuratahi river.
Yum, cool water!
Hmm, plenty more where that came from!
Oh, Mason’s just realised he’s getting his feet wet. Don’t like that!
Wonder if I can reach from here and keep my paws dry?
Bring it on, says Fortnum!
ooo, that is sooooo good!
Wanna share?
See bro’ nothing to it. Why don’t you come in with us?
Nope, I tried again and I don’t like it.
You are so missing out bro’
More please…..
Better than perrier!
What do you mean we’ve got to go?
Bye lovely cool, fresh, sparkling New Zealand water
Bye valley, see you soon.
I wonder what the collective noun for Bassets is ?
A bounce of Bassets / an amble of Bassets / a bundle of Bassets ?
It looks as if you were able to let your dogs off the lead without them fighting or running away so they must be pretty well behaved. It is nice to be able to walk dogs in a group, back in London we lived near Wanstead Flats and for about an hour in the morning and the evening there was an informal circui around the Flats with people joining and leaving at different points. very social for dogs and owners.
Beautiful and interesting scenery and not a building in sight.
That’s circuit not circus, (or maybe not).
A bundle of baffets!!! That is sooo awesome! It is so amazing that they are all so different and so well behaved. I’m not sure on the black one though, never seen a basset that colour – he is cute but its a bit odd!! Looks like lots of fun, wonder if there is a ‘lucky dip’ group for us to walk with Denver! xx
Heaven
Ton of bassets
Must be very joyful day
