I’m interrupting my recollections of my trip to Mahia last week to tell you some exciting news about our cool kid that needs help. You’ll remember that Seth has been having treatment for leukemia and whilst they’ve decided for the moment a transplant is on hold that’s not holding back this kid.
He’s been busy spreading the word about the Bone Marrow Donor register getting his picture in the paper and telling his story, of course with a little help from him mum and dad.
Here’s the links to see his media coverage. His Dad’s employers, Asda, are also pitching in towards a fundraising gig to raise 50,000 GB pounds. They’ve already raised 15k so far which is brilliant. If you’d like to do something for Seth and many others like him you can give to his appeal too. To donate just go this this page and you can give on-line. Give as much as you can.
The donor clinic at the school yesterday signed up 97 need potential donors which means there are other people like Seth who might have a chance of a future donor transplant.
Seth’s not out of the woods by any stretch but by all accounts is a lively, happy and extremely cool kid. Judging by this picture taken last week, that cool thing is something that MT and Seth’s Dad, Nathan still need to work on!
Awesome coverage for Seth. The human race can be a kind gentle soul when it wants to be xx
Will keep on praying that Seth has a full recovery.
what a cutie pie…are you related to him? thanks for stopping by my blog today! is that seriously your house??? unbelievable! New Zealand is on my list of must see places!
Julie, you have such a big heart, it’s touching to see how others respond to this poor child. I signed up once to be a donor for this kind of thing, it means a lot knowing you’re saving someone.
Yes life is cruel but people can be kind!
Steph, thanks for popping by. Seth is the child of friends of my husband and I. And yes, it’s seriously my house, built new last year. Come back soon.
Hi Julie, thanks for including Seth on your blog and for helping spread the word about bone marrow donation etc. He’s doing great at the moment and we are so proud of him. It was great to see Martin last week. Looking forward to seeing you both next year! x
